It is with a heavy heart that we wake up this morning and contemplate the horrific tragedy that has befallen Oklahoma. The widespread destruction has left families homeless, parents grieving for their children, communities searching for loved ones in the rubble, and a nation numb from watching the despair unfolding before their very eyes with every update on the news. Today, instead of celebrating silly things that are fun, but inconsequential in the grand scheme of life, I am taking a moment to breathe, to pray and to hope for the best for those who are still missing, and for these people’s lives to be put back together as quickly as possible. The healing can only begin after every last victim is found. Please join me today in prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to You today to ask Your healing touch for these people searching for their loved ones, for those missing and hoping for rescue, for those who are injured, and for the people grieving for those who have been lost. Please be with the search and rescue teams, may they be aware of every detail, so they find those who are still lost. Be with the medical teams as they work on the injured, with the fire and police crews as they do their jobs, and with the families as they pick up the pieces of their lives and try to figure out what to do next with their lives. Thank You for the peace you bring, when tragedy overwhelms us.
In Your precious name we pray,
Tomorrow I will go over what we missed today, and hope that nobody minds celebrating late. God Bless You. I’ll see you tomorrow, and pray that it will be under happier circumstances.
