Well, after a really busy celebration weekend, I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed that it was a bit slow for today. There IS such a thing as celebrating TOO much, isn’t there? Well, there is for me sometimes. Even with all of the fun things from the past two days, I hope everyone is well rested and ready for the new week. Mondays may not be everyone’s favorite day, but it has to come sometime and it obviously beats the alternative of never having a new week to look forward to.
National Aviation Day – Today we celebrate National Aviation Day, and today was chosen because it is the birthday of aviator Orville Wright, who was born on August 19, 1871. The Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, were forward thinking pioneer aviators in the United States. Orville was the first person to successfully fly an airplane. Now I know if that had been me, not knowing if it would actually work or not, I would have been extremely scared. Makes me wonder how bit the butterflies in HIS stomach were on that historic day of December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, NC. This amazing inaugural flight was to change the skies forever. I know that none of us today can even imagine life without being able to get from one side of the country to the other in just a few hours. We are able to do it because of the Wright Brothers!
