Love Your Pet Day . . . We Should Celebrate This one EVERY Day!

Feb 20th

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!  Today, for those of you who are interested in Pinterest, we are going to be joining a few of my blogger friends at a Pinterest Party!  After I am finished with the daily celebrations, and get them posted and linked on Facebook, I’ll be posting the Pinterest Party in a separate post, and sharing that on Facebook as well!  You will have access to some awesome posts pinned by everyone in our group, and add links of your own, if I’m correct in how this works!  I’m new, so if I’m wrong, don’t throw anything!  So, let’s get on with what we are celebrating today, and go join the party!

** There were actually a few more celebrations than this one, but when I looked them up to verify what they were, my calendars had them listed on the wrong date! We’ll cover them as they actually come up.  **

Love Your Pet Day – I know how much we love our pets, and we love to spoil them rotten!  Today is the day to pamper your pet and let them know how much we love them.  I know that my Tibbi girl gets regular spa days, though she isn’t due for one quite yet.  I’ll give her an extra can of her super duper expensive specialty canned food with her kibble today, and an extra jerky treat.  She loves those! The kitties will get extra snuggles today too.  Whether you have dogs, cats, fish, snakes (shudder), or even pet rocks, give them all the love and attention you can today.  If you don’t HAVE a pet, then maybe today would be a good day to get one – give a home to an animal that needs you – it will make you both feel good, safe a life, and give you a reason to celebrate all in one!

This Day In History

1962 – John Glenn become the first U.S. astronaut to orbit the earth.

Food Celebration of the Day

National Cherry Pie Day – Apple pie may be everyone’s blue ribbon pick, but sweet-tart cherry pie deserves a place right next to it on the all-American dessert list.  Cherry pie is America’s second most popular pie, behind only apple pie in popularity. However, in the month of February, it’s Number 1.    As a young boy, George Washington made the Cherry tree popular, with his famous quote “I can not tell a lie, I chopped down the Cherry tree.” We celebrate George Washington’s Birthday and President’s Day in February. Appropriately, it is traditional to bake cherry pies in honor of the occasion.

Pets and Pie!  Two things I can definitely celebrate with enthusiasm!  How about you?   It’s off to work I go! Enjoy the party today!  God Bless You and I’ll see you tomorrow!
