We all watched, or experienced, the record breaking snow near Buffalo. There are a few people that I am acquainted who live there who were snowed in for several days, and were grateful that they had enough food stored up to be OK until things thawed out so they could leave the house. But what about the people who didn’t?
Natural or man made disaster can strike at any time, and can take many forms. It could be snow, flood, tornado, hurricane, severe draught, illness or even fear of violence (as in the Ferguson riots) that keeps us inside of our homes, or unable to get to a store. This sort of event also makes people panic, and when that happens life can get dangerous. The store shelves are cleared of their merchandise in a hurry, which can lead to more panic and that gets even MORE dangerous. One way to combat any of this sort of problem would be to prepare in advance. Have food, water, medical supplies and anything else your family may need already on hand so that you know without doubt that if you were to be told today not to leave your home, you would be fine for several weeks, if not months.
Wednesday, November 26th is a GREAT time to get started on your emergency food pantry, by shopping the Thrive Pre-Black Friday sale! Follow this link and see what great deals they have going on! In the time I’ve been using, and distributing Thrive products, I have never seen some of these proteins at such a low price. Same with the Instant Milk. If you have never tried any of these products, I KNOW you will be pleasantly surprised with how fresh they taste. Not a day goes by when I don’t use one or more of the Thrive products out of my pantry as part of our daily menu. If you had asked me a couple of years ago if I would be eating freeze dried food regularly, and not just for hiking or emergencies, I would have told you that you didn’t know what you were talking about. They make life easier, food preparation faster, and having them in the pantry gives my family peace of mind.
