Holy Trinity Sunday . . .

May 26th

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to you!  As you head out to take on the day, please remember, this is the Lord’s Day, set aside to rest and focus on our blessings.  Today I feel blessed by you, all of my readers.  I know that every day you are there sharing with me the celebrations that come up throughout the month, laughing with me sometimes, feeling sad with me at others.  Knowing you are there  keeps me coming back and posting, not giving up even on the days when I’m feeling a little tired.  Today’s celebrations are short and sweet and give us plenty of time to spend with God, with family and remembering the reason for Memorial Weekend.

Sally Ride Day – Dr. Sally Ride was the first American woman to go into space.  She was a mission specialist aboard STS-7, the second flight of the Space Shuttle Challenger.  STS-7 was launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on June 18th, 1983honors the first American woman to go into space. Dr. Ride accomplished this feat as a mission specialist aboard STS-7, the second flight of the Space Shuttle “Challenger”. STS-7 was launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on June 18, 1983. Today we celebrate on her birthday – May 26, 1951.  Happy Birthday Sally!

Trinity Sunday – Trinity Sunday, also known as Holy Trinity Sunday, is celebrated a week after Pentecost Sunday in honor of the most fundamental of Christian beliefs—belief in the Holy Trinity. The mystery of the Trinity is one of the big stumbling points for a lot of people, but it’s all summed up in a basic and simple way.  God is three Persons in One Nature.  The three Persons of God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – they are all equally God, and they cannot be divided.  I had a youth pastor explain it to me one time – The Trinity is sort of like water.  Water comes in 3 forms – liquid, ice and steam.  They are all different, yet all the same.  If we can comprehend how water can come in different forms, it’s not that big a stretch to understand God comes in different forms also – but remains God undivided.

Food Celebration of the Day

National Blueberry Cheesecake Day – Cheesecakes have existed for centuries, but blueberry cheesecake is a true slice of Americana — it features our country’s native berries and a local invention, cream cheese!

Day two is under way for our three day weekend.  Do something relaxing, enjoy your family, and celebrate the day.  God Bless You.  I’ll see you tomorrow!
